Advisory Committees

Stratford City Council establishes Advisory Committees and Boards to fulfil various mandates and make recommendations to Council. Advisory Committees give advice and feedback to City Council on a variety of issues, including active transportation, accessibility, heritage, and the environment. Boards have the autonomy to make decisions for the good of their organizations. We rely on citizen volunteers to bring their diverse backgrounds and expertise to participate on these Advisory Committees and Boards.

If you are interested in serving on one of the many Advisory Committees and Boards please fill out the Online Application Form for Advisory Committees and Boards. Applications can also be mailed or dropped off to the office at the address below:

Notices for are placed on the City website, social media or in the newspaper when there are available positions.

To be eligible for most positions, applicants must be:

• 18 years of age or older,
• a Canadian citizen, and
• a resident of Stratford or an eligible elector in Stratford.

Eligibility requirements for youth positions may differ.

Applications received for appointment to an Advisory Committee or Board that does not have a current vacant position are placed in the Appointment Name Bank for the calendar year. The Name Bank is accessed should a position become vacant in the calendar year, and are then subsequently removed.
